MetaMorphosis - Workshop in the "Branitz Empire of the Future"
The environmental scientist will use his knowledge to support the MetaMorphosis workshop in the "Branitz Kingdom of the Future" on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Branitz Park.
Together with artist Jakob Kukula and wild meadow ecologist Esteban Menares (BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg), the participants will bring an insect altar to life in Branitz Park. This sculpture will provide a new home for insects - from wild bees and wasps to lacewings, butterflies and earwigs. Composer Ben Meerwein and artist Xaver Hirsch will accompany the workshop with an audio-visual performance that incorporates live microscopy as well as 3D scans, found objects and sound recordings from the park.
With the title "MetaMorphosis", the interdisciplinary team behind the project alludes to the mutability of the park ecosystem and its inhabitants. It focuses on the effects of the changing climate and encourages participants to engage with the environment in new ways.
The Prince Pückler Museum Foundation and the Berlin studio Symbiotic Lab cordially invite you to the art project "MetaMorphosis", consisting of a workshop, sculpture and performance.
If you are interested, please register by calling 0355-75150 or sending an e-mail to service(at)pueckler-museum.de. Participation costs 15 euros per person.
The project has already been performed at locations in Berlin, Brandenburg and Bavaria. In Branitz, "MetaMorphosis" is part of the "Future Branitz" theme year with the open-air exhibition and the land art intervention "Between Roots and Crowns" curated by Symbiotic Lab, which can be seen all day in Branitz Park until October 31, 2024.
