Innovative energy mix in Brandenburg

As part of the 25th anniversary of the Brandenburg Energy Day 2025, experts from business, science and politics will take stock of the current status of the energy transition on Wednesday, 11 June 2025.

Energy Minister Daniel Keller will open the event together with BTU President Prof. Dr Gesine Grande and Jens Warnken, President of the Cottbus Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and present the Energy Efficiency Awards 2025.

More than 600 representatives from leading energy companies, cross-industry small and medium-sized companies and interdisciplinary scientists will discuss the extent to which the goals of the energy transition have been achieved so far on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, from 9 a.m. at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). Together with the Brandenburg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Protection, the Brandenburg Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Berlin-Brandenburg Energy Technology Cluster of the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB), the university is hosting the 25th Brandenburg Energy Day.

For the first time this year, the symposium of the Cottbus Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ) will be held in parallel. Forum 4 is an EIZ specialist forum with a scientific focus. The Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ) at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus conducts research into the energy transition, both at a theoretical and applied level. It contributes to the energy transformation on a global and regional level and comprises 14 professorships. It funds over 70 researchers at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. The EIZ has around 50 partners from business, politics and science.
