BTU nominates two new student representatives to the EUNICE Student Advisory Board

Full of energy, Ha Lien Pham and Maral Chavoshi Tehrani represent the BTU students in order to strengthen their voices within EUNICE and intensify international exchange.

Ha Lien Pham and Maral Chavoshi Tehrani have represented BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on the EUNICE Student Advisory Board (ESAB) since the beginning of 2026. This is a central committee of the European University Alliance, consisting of two students from each of the ten EUNICE universities. Its tasks include advising the management and university administration as well as publicising EUNICE and its opportunities within the student body. ESAB is therefore an important link between the various stakeholders within the alliance.

We asked the new EASB members about their motivation and goals within the body.

What does EUNICE mean to you? Why did you apply for ESAB?

Ha Lien Pham: "For me, EUNICE means getting in touch with other students on an international level and gaining new experiences. I am convinced that improvements in the system are only possible if everyone is willing to embrace change and we go beyond our borders. This can only happen if we are in constant contact and work together. These aspects have convinced me that I can contribute to the ambassador team with my intercultural experience and technical understanding."

Maral Chavoshi Tehrani: "For me, EUNICE is an opportunity to fund mobility between students from different backgrounds and cultures, to improve cooperation and exchange experiences across borders.
I applied for this position because I want to actively participate in such a practical and international programme, contribute to the intercultural exchange of experiences and act as a bridge between the students and the entire EUNICE team. For me, it is important that the students' voices are heard and represented at higher levels of discussion and decision-making."

What motivates you? What ideas do you want to realise?

Ha Lien Pham: "I want to contribute to the good reputation of EUNICE. I myself have attended language courses through the network and it was a good opportunity that many people don't know about. Summer schools and exchange semesters are not only for students to acquire knowledge, but also to gain memories and experiences in other countries. The time during your studies is the best time to do these things."

Maral Chavoshi Tehrani: "I have always been interested in international and joint programmes, as I believe they are a powerful tool to gain practical experience and learn from different perspectives while studying.
Within EUNICE and ESAB, I want to improve the joint programmes between universities and make the opportunities more accessible and useful for students from all universities. My aim is to support programmes that enable students to go beyond their own university environment and become familiar with other European universities and cultures."

We look forward to the impetus that Ha Lien Pham and Maral Chavoshi Tehrani will bring to the EUNICE Student Council.
