DECARBON DAYS 2026: Experience Lausitz Science Park for yourself

On 24 and 25 June 2026, Lusatia will once again become the hub of European climate innovation: the Decarbon Days, taking place on the BTU Cottbus main campus, will bring together stakeholders from politics, business, academia and civil society in the EU’s first Net Zero Valley.

What does the future hold for clean energy and industry? This question will be addressed at the Decarbon Days cleantech event, which will take place on 24 and 25 June 2026 at the BTU Cottbus main campus – right in the heart of Europe’s first Net Zero Valley.

24 June: Framework conditions for green value creation

On the first day, high-profile decision-makers from the EU, federal and state levels, as well as from business and academia, will discuss innovation and sustainable growth:

  • Building clean industrial clusters: Meetings with the four German Net Zero Valleys (regions with advantages for green industry), the Basque Country (Net-Zero Basque Industrial Super Cluster), Climate KIC (Europe’s leading agency for climate innovation), the European Commission, the BMWE and more.

  • Innovation: Discussions on clean future technologies with the President of the European Innovation Council, a start-up competition, the Female Energy Award powered by enviaM and more.

  • Deep Dive: Subject-related workshops and seminars on various aspects of the transition.

25 June: Careers and young talent

The second day, with free admission, is specifically aimed at young talent and the skilled workers of tomorrow:

  • Job fair: Career opportunities in the region’s cleantech sector

  • Decarbon Drafts: Presentation of final-year student theses on decarbonisation

  • Climathon: The green hackathon for student teams

  • Tech Mile & Exhibition: Experience cleantech and meet innovative regional players
