FGW Research Partnership 2026: Frailty and Dementia – New Approaches to Healthy Ageing

Connecting research and practice – building partnerships – driving projects forward: every year, the FGW Research Partnership funds exchange between experts in the health and life sciences and medicine in Brandenburg and Berlin; this year’s theme is ‘Frailty and Dementia – New Solutions for Healthy Ageing’.

The FGW Research Partnership is organised by the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Joint Faculty of the University of Potsdam, Theodor Fontane University of Medicine in Brandenburg and the BTU.
Frailty is a geriatric syndrome that often arises in conjunction with malnutrition and inactivity, and is becoming increasingly significant in an ageing society. The same applies to dementia, i.e. the decline in mental abilities such as memory, orientation or structured thinking, caused by progressive brain diseases.
Take the opportunity to participate actively in our event by giving a pitch presentation and introducing your research topic using a profile sheet, and to network with other stakeholders in the field to develop joint projects.

We would like to cordially invite you to contribute your expertise and research ideas to help find new approaches and solutions for better prevention, early detection and therapeutic support for affected patients, and to establish new research partnerships!
