About the Children’s University lecture

Where does space actually begin? And how do humans manage to fly there? On an exciting journey through our solar system, the children will discover, together with the officer, how astronauts live, work and even sleep on the ISS – weightless, in the middle of space! They will also take a look at our solar system: Which planets are there? How long would it take us to visit them? And: Could we perhaps even live there? This journey of discovery beyond our Earth will be exciting, amazing and certainly not boring.

The Children’s University lectures are designed to spark an early interest in solving scientific problems and give children the chance to experience the atmosphere of a university.
In this way, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg enables pupils in Years 3 to 6 to get a taste of university life and, in a child-friendly and exciting way, introduces them to ways of understanding everyday scientific phenomena. This encourages formative experiences that are designed to spark the youngest children’s interest in science and lower the barrier to visiting a university.

Outlook:

The next event at the BTU Children’s University is an excursion during the upcoming summer holidays. Information will be published on the university’s website in due course.
The BTU invites you to the Pupil University lecture ‘Climate Protection in Industry – How DLR-DI Helps Reduce CO2 Emissions’ on 17 June at 3.30 pm at the Cottbus main campus, Audimax 2 in the Central Lecture Theatre Building.
