Research and development of innovative neuroadaptive technologies

Passive brain-computer interfaces (pBCI for short) are the subject of a new cooperation between the company Zander Labs and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU)

In order to create effective and lasting solutions in the field of passive brain-computer interfaces, the German-Dutch company Zander Labs and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) signed a cooperation agreement to intensify research and accelerate the market introduction and implementation of pBCI technologies.

"We are very proud to be working with a leading university on this groundbreaking technology," said Gerard de Jager, CEO of Zander Labs, highlighting the importance of this joint venture. "I strongly believe that industry-academia collaborations can solve real-world challenges through the application of neuroadaptive technology."

"Passive brain-computer interfaces can be a fascinating opportunity for the healthcare of the future," expressed Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande, President of BTU. “I am very pleased that we have found a strong partner in Zander Labs to research the scientific fundamentals and jointly develop technological applications. We are gaining an innovative topic area for our 'Health and Life Sciences' profile line."

The cooperation is initially planned until the end of 2024 and will be carried out at the university's laboratories in Cottbus. Projects will range from fundamental to applied research involving master and PhD level work, such as understanding and improving methods for classifying neural electroencephalography (EEG) data, improving brain activity elicitation paradigms, optimizing data acquisition and management, among other R&D goals.
