“EU Funding for Research and Innovation”
At the European level, research and knowledge transfer are primarily supported by the current EU research framework program, Horizon Europe. Running from 2021 to 2027, it funds large-scale EU collaborative projects as well as individual researchers. This seminar will therefore present the wide range of individual funding instruments offered by Horizon Europe, ranging from individual funding for one’s own career (including the European Research Council, ERC) to traditional large-scale EU collaborative projects (organized into six thematic clusters) and applied research with a clear goal of market introduction (European Innovation Council, EIC). Using example calls from the current work program for 2025, the strategy for submitting an EU collaborative proposal will be explained. In addition, a brief overview of other relevant EU funding programs as well as the European Partnerships—which are important for networking and strategic planning—will be provided.
