BTU is represented at Interbattery in Seoul with future technologies for recycling lithium-ion batteries
The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg will be represented at InterBattery for the second time and will be exhibiting together with research institutions and companies at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region.
BTU will be represented by the Chair of Physical Chemistry, Prof. Dr Jörg Acker. The focus will be on the special competences in the fields of recycling and recovery of battery materials and battery raw materials from lithium-ion batteries as well as material and process analytics. With the help of fundamental research approaches and the application of state-of-the-art chemical and material analysis methods, innovative and economical processes and process steps are developed for industrial use in order to obtain high-quality recyclates and return them to the economic cycle of battery materials.
A special highlight is the presentation of a new research project initiated by the BTU chairs of Physical Chemistry, Spectrochemical Analysis and Process and Plant Engineering as well as the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). In cooperation with companies and other research institutions, new chemical, material analytical and Process Engineering methods for recycling current and future battery technologies are being developed. This includes new approaches for the development of automated methods for industrial process analysis and the digital representation of recycling processes and process steps.
