Digital transparency in production and logistics: the Centre for Efficient Manufacturing invites you to the BTU in Senftenberg

How can materials, goods and products be tracked in real time within production and logistics, and how can processes be managed more transparently? This question will be the focus of an event for businesses taking place on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, from 9 am to 5 pm at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

The current programmeof events organised by the Centre for Efficient Manufacturing (ZEF) at the BTU’s Campus Senftenberg is aimed in particular at managers, plant managers, production planners and managers, as well as decision-makers in manufacturing and logistics.

Through a series of presentations and demonstrations, technologies and applications relating to tracking and tracing (the tracking of objects in production and logistics processes), process monitoring and digital plant management will be showcased. Alongside this, specialist exhibitors will present practical solutions. There will also be time set aside for professional exchange and networking. The programme also includes topics such as intelligent data collection and processing using drones, as well as demonstrations of tracking and tracing technologies, their visualisation and evaluation.

About the Centre for Efficient Factories

The Centre for Efficient Manufacturing (ZEF) has been operated since 2017 by the Chair of Factory Planning and Operation at the BTU in Senftenberg. As a model factory, the ZEF presents a showcase of innovative technologies in the fields of Factory Planning and Operation, designed to help manufacturing companies generate new ideas and achieve greater process efficiency. Using the specific example of torch and USB stick production, the technologies are integrated into the various areas of manufacturing, assembly and logistics, and are applied and demonstrated in response to operational challenges.

The ZEF thus serves as an information hub and think tank for the practical application of innovative technologies for equipment suppliers, manufacturing companies and students. The centre’s aim is to fund the use of these technologies and drive forward digitalisation. The project

is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
