Apprenticeship as an IT Specialist in Systems Integration

About me:

I am an apprentice IT specialist in system integration. I have been working at the dean’s office of Faculty 5 at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg since September 2024. I have wanted to train for a technical career for quite some time, one in which I can help others with their problems. I particularly enjoy working in an academic environment such as a university, because here the focus is on collaboration and continuous learning.

My responsibilities include, under supervision, assisting Staff Members with technical issues and carrying out administrative tasks. Through this, I’m learning just how important smooth IT operations are for day-to-day work. As well as providing support, I work with my trainer on exciting learning projects, such as setting up a test network, which allows me to gain practical experience and expand my knowledge. What I particularly appreciate about my apprenticeship is that I have the opportunity to constantly learn new things and put theory directly into practice. I look forward to further expanding my knowledge in the future so that I can support our Staff Members even better when they face technical challenges.

In my spare time, I’m active in sport and play as a goalkeeper for Lausitzer Handballclub Cottbus. My sport requires a strong team spirit and the ability to make quick decisions – qualities that are also helpful in my apprenticeship.
