Going abroad with BTU

BTU students have a wide range of opportunities to study abroad during their studies. Whether it's a compulsory semester, a freely chosen stay abroad, a thesis, a research stay, or participation in language courses, internships, or summer schools. There are various exchange programmes and funding opportunities to choose from.

Anyone considering spending time abroad is welcome to contact the International Relations Office team at an early stage. Here you will receive important tips and advice for planning your stay abroad.

Second Round of Applications for a Semester Abroad in the 2026/27 Academic Year

Applications for a semester abroad are now open as part of the second round of applications. Please submit your application by 30 September 2026 to take up the opportunity to study in Europe or worldwide. Further information and access to the application portal can be found on these pages: Erasmus+ (EU), Erasmus+ (non-EU), Studexa.

Moodle course on studying abroad

We provide you with all essential information and a lot first hand insights related to studying abroad in a Moodle course.

You will not only receive valuable information and inspiration for your very own personal stay abroad, but also announcements of events, experience exchanges and webinars. All relevant information on our application campaign for the academic year 2025/26 will also be made available on Moodle. We look forward to accompanying you on your adventure abroad.
