WW1, Dyarchy and the Design of Interwar New Delhi

In her presentation, Smriti Pant – a doctoral student at the German Research Foundation Research Training Group – will illustrate the manner in which the First World War and its aftermath shaped the urban planning and architecture of interwar imperial New Delhi.

The SAHGB’s Annual Symposium 2018 “Architecture, the Built Environment, and the Aftermath of the First World War” is being organised in cooperation with the 20s30s Network and the Twentieth Century Society. It will be held at Wolfson Conference Room, Institute of Historical Research, Senate House, University of London on 8th and 9th June 2018.
