BTU students praise intensive support and excellent facilities

This year, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) once again receives top marks in the renowned CHE university ranking. In the current evaluation of subjects in the engineering sciences, the BTU is represented with its offerings in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering and civil engineering.

A particular strength of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is the range of services offered at the start of studies and for study support in the first two semesters, which facilitate the transition from school to studies. Personal support services in the introductory phase of studies help to set the course for future study success and to master the new challenges - by the way, this applies equally to the regular study program profiles and in the dual study program. Students of architecture and civil engineering as well as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and environmental engineering have rewarded this with excellent ratings. Top group placements in the CHE ranking result from this. The bachelor's program in mechanical engineering also scores highly for its close contact with professional practice, while electrical engineering scores highly for research funding per scientist. According to the ranking, BTU students in civil engineering are very satisfied with the general study situation.

As in previous years, BTU students particularly praise the very good facilities, such as the teaching rooms, the library, the workplaces in the laboratories and studios, and the IT infrastructure.

The Vice President for Studies and Teaching at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Prof. Dr. Peer Schmidt, comments: "We are pleased that the many efforts we have made to ensure a successful start to studies are bearing fruit and are appreciated by the students. We want to continue to expand this service - and to do so, continue to focus on modern teaching that addresses the needs of students with elements of classroom teaching and digital learning formats."

With around 120,000 students surveyed and more than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences as well as dual universities and universities of cooperative education examined, the CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed comparison of universities in the German-speaking world. The ranking appears today (May 3, 2022) in the ZEIT Studienführer 2022/23.
