Pathways to climate-friendly transformation

22nd Brandenburg Energy Day on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Cottbus Central Campus. Interested parties can register online until May 9.

After a two-year break, Brandenburg's energy sector will meet again in Präsenz: The Brandenburg Ministry of Economics, Labor and Energy and the two co-organizers, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and the Brandenburg State Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce, invite you to the annual meeting, which will take place on May 12, 2022, at the BTU's central campus. The theme of the 22nd Brandenburg Energy Day is "Ways to transform Brandenburg's economy in a climate-friendly way".

CO₂ emissions from electricity generation, heating of buildings, transport and industry make a decisive contribution to global warming. Germany, and thus Brandenburg as well, is focusing primarily on increasing the use of renewable energies and boosting energy efficiency. But how must the instruments and framework conditions be designed to enable and support the necessary transformation of the economy?

The 22nd Brandenburg Energy Day will deal with energy policy issues in the morning starting at 10 a.m. and will culminate in a high-profile panel discussion with Economics Minister Prof. Jörg Steinbach, BASF Managing Director Jürgen Fuchs (Chairman of the Board of BASF Schwarzheide GmbH), Rüdiger Kuhn (Chairman of the Board of Cemex Deutschland AG), Thorsten Kramer (Chairman of the Board of LEAG), Olaf Höhn (Managing Director of Florida-Eis Manufaktur GmbH) and Prof. Felix Müsgens (Head of the BTU Department of Energy Economics).

After the lunch break, starting at 1:30 p.m., three parallel expert forums will take place, moderated by relevant experts: Forum 1 "Business and science - shaping the energy turnaround together" (moderated by Dr. Bernd Wenzel, Head of the Competence Center Climate Protection in Energy-Intensive Industries); Forum 2 "Climate protection concretely for companies" (moderated by Harald Lacher, energy consultant, moderator of the energy efficiency network of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry); Forum 3 "Shaping the energy turnaround with renewable energies" (moderated by Klaus Henschke, Cluster Manager WFBB, Energy Technology Cluster).

The Energy Day will be flanked by a trade exhibition where companies and (research) institutions will present themselves.

Interested parties can still register online until Monday, May 9, 2022. Participation is free of charge.
