EUNICE Global Studies Course in Spain: Registration open

An Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme on globalisation will take place at the University of Cantabria in Santander this summer. The application deadline at BTU is May 11. Participating students can be accommodated with local families.

Registration is open for EUNICE’s blended intensive programme, “Introduction to Global Studies”, which will take place between 4th and 15th July 2022. This Summer Course will prepare students to understand how globalisation has affected the way in which we analyse different disciplines nowadays, such as business, migrations, arts, health or environmental issues. While the course was an online programme last year due to the pandemic, it will be held in a hybrid format - online and face-to-face - in 2022. The course content will be taught by eight lecturers from the following universities: University of Mons (Belgium), University of Catania (Italy), University of Cantabria (Spain) - all members of the EUNICE Alliance - and University of North Caroline at Charlotte (USA). The University of Cantabria is responsible for coordination.

In order to enhance the experience of studying abroad and facilitate mobility, an Immersion Pack, funded by the European Commission, is available to students from universities in the EUNICE Alliance this year. Interested students who sign up for this offer will pay 300 euros and will stay with a local family in Santander for the entire period. The package also includes a full-day excursion to the Picos de Europa National Park.

Students can apply for this course until May 11 at BTU’s International Relations Office. The only requirements for participation are that they are enrolled at one of the universities of the EUNICE Alliance and demonstrate a B2 Level of English. The course is free of charge for EUNICE students. A total of three BTU students can take part in the course. Selected students also receive financial support from the Erasmus+ programme.
