Ecological Social Work Symposium
The climate crises show that the boundaries between the social, culture and nature are fictitious - the development of an ecological perspective has become a priority, also for social work. We want to avoid a truncated understanding of sustainability and nature that juxtaposes nature as an object to be protected with the social, cultural, human or technological. Questions of sustainability and social justice must be addressed, as well as a changed understanding of the role of humans on the planet. In this context, it is important to ask how ecology and sustainability can be understood in terms of social education and social work. With this conference we would like to create a space to enter into the discourse about an ecological perspective in social work. These topics will be explored in lectures and workshops. As an introduction to the conference, an excursion to the open-cast lignite mine in Jänschwalde will take place on July 1. To register for the excursion please follow the link to the registration form. In our flyer you will find the detailed program and we are looking forward to forwarding the flyer to interested parties.
