ILA Berlin 2022: BTU provides insights into research and study programs

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will present, among other things, alternative propulsion systems for aviation at the International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) at BER Airport from June 22 to 26, 2022.

At Germany's most important trade fair for aerospace, the BTU is helping to design the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region in Hall 3a (Stand 3a-464). It will also be represented at the ILA's digital online job and career fair.

Five institutes of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Institute of Transport Engineering, Institute of Process Engineering and Materials, Institute of Electrical and Thermal Energy Systems, Institute of Production Research, Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology), the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre and the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (CHESCO) will present their research foci related to the aerospace industry at the International Aerospace Exhibition. CHESCO offers extensive research, manufacturing and testing capabilities for the development of hybrid electric systems.

Wednesday, June 22, from 4:30 to 5 p.m. will be an opportunity to learn about an airport environment study in the Transportation, Mobility and Logistics Cluster area of the joint booth. This study was developed as part of the joint project "Innovation Hub 13 - fast track to transfer" of the Technical University of Wildau and the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and will be presented by Dr. Frank Hartmann of the TH Wildau.

On Thursday, June 23, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Klaus Höschler, holder of the Chair of Aircraft Engine Design and Director of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre at BTU, will highlight the topics of electric flight and hybrid drives, among others, in a presentation from 10:15 to 11 a.m.

The Center for Student Recruitment and Preparation (College) and the BTU's dual degree program team will jointly manage a virtual booth at the ILA Career Hub online job and career fair. STEM Ambassador Katharina Noatschk and STEM Ambassador Pascal Fritzsche are available as contact persons for interested visitors* who can find BTU study and job offers through targeted matchmaking. The platform is open until mid-July 2022.

One of the faces of this year's ILA is BTU scientist Daniela Schob from Mechanical Engineering, who is featured in a portrait on the event platform.

About ILA Berlin This year, the trade show will once again be held in Presence after a break due to corona. This year, Prof. Klaus Höschler will again be responsible for the BTU's presence at the joint stand. All interested parties are cordially invited to visit the booth and learn more about the BTU's research in the field of aerospace.
