Open BTU: Brandenburg on the Way to Climate Neutrality - The Climate Plan as a Key Instrument

The public lecture series Open BTU of the Center for Scientific Continuing Education addresses the energy transition and structural change in Germany and globally in the winter semester.

Brandenburg on the Way to Climate Neutrality - The Climate Plan as a Key Instrument

Since 2015, the Paris Climate Agreement has provided a new basis for climate protection policy in all states. As a result, the current Brandenburg state government has also decided to develop a climate plan for the state of Brandenburg for the first time. This is intended to lead the state, which is dominated by fossil fuels, onto a path of climate neutrality. Prof. Hirschl worked with an interdisciplinary team on the report that laid the foundation for the climate plan. He will report on the central results as well as the accompanying political and participation process.

Lecturer:

Prof. Dr. Bernd Hirschl, BTU, Department of Management of Regional Energy Supply Systems and Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW), Head of the Research Field Sustainable Energy Economy and Climate Protection.

Moderation:

Prof. Dr. Melanie Jaeger-Erben, BTU, Department of Sociology of Technology and the Environment.
