Excellence in teaching sought in Brandenburg
Open Educational Resources refer to educational materials that are published under an open license and can be used, stored, processed, modified and (re)distributed by anyone free of charge. This includes, for example, individual media, complete courses, textbooks, teaching concepts, scripts, streaming videos, multimedia applications or podcasts. Awards are given to teachers at Brandenburg universities for excellent Open Educational Resources that are already freely available or are as yet unpublished concepts.
Three awards, each endowed with 10,000 euros, will be presented as part of the State Teaching Award. A jury consisting of the previous year's teaching award winners, two vice presidents for studies and teaching, a representative from the Ministry of Science, as well as representatives of the students and the Brandenburg Academic Quality Network will decide who will receive the awards. The awards will be presented at a ceremony in Potsdam in November. Proposals may be submitted by the departmental or faculty councils as well as the central institutions for teaching, continuing education and language and the AStA of the Brandenburg state universities via their respective chairpersons or managements at landeslehrpreis(at)mwfk.brandenburg.de. The deadline for applications is June 9, 2023. The text of the call for proposals and further information can be found at https://mwfk.brandenburg.de/mwfk/de/wissenschaft/landeslehrpreis/.
