BTU participates in traveling exhibition - when science becomes art

"The invisible unveiled" - Together with the partner universities from the EUNICE Alliance, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is planning a traveling exhibition to make science visible. Researchers* at BTU can submit photos of their work until June 15, 2023. The exhibition will be held at the BTU in 2024.

Research is not only science, but also has artistic richness. Often, however, the research content is too small, too far away, too hidden or too abstract to present its full potential. But this is exactly what the EUNICE Alliance project aims to do: to showcase the invisible.

The aim is to create a collection of images that showcase the research being conducted at individual universities. Scientists from all fields, from the humanities to the natural sciences, are invited to submit aesthetically pleasing images that reflect their field.

As a traveling exhibition, the works will be on display at all EUNICE partner universities, providing a unique opportunity to showcase the institution in an artistic way. After opening in Mons (Belgium), the exhibition will also stop in Cottbus in 2024. The aim of the presentation is to provide the general public with exciting access to mostly invisible topics of science. Nevertheless, this opportunity can be used to create an exchange between the participating departments of the individual universities and to strengthen future collaborations. After the traveling exhibition, all works will be published in a book and available in all countries of the EUNICE Alliance.

To participate, high-resolution images (min. 300 dpi) must be sent by June 15, 2023 to the following email address: eunice+exhibition(at)b-tu.de. Submitted photos can take a variety of forms, from snapshots to illustrations and graphics to conceptual models. Images must be free of any captions, scale, or other alphanumeric elements and accompanied by a brief description and appropriate credit to the image's author.
