International conference in Cottbus sheds light on individual and social participation

How participation can succeed in the tension between participation and co-determination will be discussed by scientists from Germany, Poland and Romania at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg from Thursday to Friday, June 1-2, 2023.

Participation begins with the very young. An international conference at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) is examining how participation can succeed from childhood to the last years of life. 65 experts from science and practice will discuss how participation can succeed on an individual, structural and societal level. The conference topics include the participation of citizens in the city, of students in academic development, social reintegration, and the use of digital technology to enhance students' learning skills.

The conference is part of the project HAW International BTU - A Teaching and Research Network in the East within the DAAD program for the internationalization of universities of applied sciences. The background to the project are two integrated, binational social work programs already running successfully at the BTU: German-Romanian and German-Polish. They enable students to obtain a German and Romanian or a German and Polish degree.

Date: Thursday and Friday, June 1 and 2, 2023 Location : Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), Campus Sachsendorf, Building 15, Room 15V.110, Lipezker Straße 47, 03048 Cottbus The conference will be held mainly in English.
