BTU cycles 41,527 kilometers in city cycling competition
For three weeks, Cottbus pedaled hard in the city cycling competition. Around 2,672 cyclists in 114 teams put their backs into it and rode 517,565 kilometers
- for climate protection and their own health.
With 227 cyclists, we were the largest team and ended up in second place with 41,527 kilometers! We are very proud that we as a team were able to increase our total number of kilometers again this year by around 2,100 km. "M.K." cycled the most kilometers among all BTU participants with 870 km. The "Tour de Senftenberg: Institute of Health" team was the largest sub-team with 24 people and contributed around 6,580 km to the team success.
"We are also pleased about the second place - the BTU shows that environmentally friendly mobility and fitness have a firm place in the everyday life of our Staff Members. It's not just these three weeks that are important to us, but activities throughout the year," says team captain Prof. Peer Schmidt (Vice-President for Academic Affairs).
We would like to thank all participants who took part with fun and enthusiasm. As a small thank you, there will be a small surprise for all active cyclists again this year, which you can request fromthe BTU Health Management at gesundheitsmanagement(at)b-tu.de.
