The BTU invites you to the big anniversary celebration

One anniversary, one university, one motto "We want to know!" BUT: two events, two places and two days with a colorful program and many surprises for young and old! All interested people from Cottbus, Senftenberg and Lusatia are cordially invited to join us: on Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 2 p.m. at the BTU main campus in Cottbus and on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 11 a.m. at the Campus Senftenberg.

Despite many similarities, both BTU campuses will show their own individual sides during the anniversary celebrations. On both days, a multifaceted program will feature hands-on activities, laboratory tours, short lectures, and music and dance performances on the big stage. Whether science to marvel at and touch, modern study programmes up close, a look behind the scenes of studies and teaching, a cheerful children's programme or cultural performances - there is something for everyone: for young scientists and inquisitive minds, for families with children, former Staff Members and students, but also for BTU's cooperation partners and all those who simply want to experience something different.

In addition to the festival for the general public, which will not lack the culinary aspect, the BTU invites to a large graduation ceremony, a meeting of former and current Deutschlandstipendiat*innen and an alumni meeting on July 1 in Cottbus: The university's alumni will have the opportunity to discover their alma mater anew or from a different perspective. A ceremony rounds off the activities on the main campus.

A tip for all concert fans: The festival already starts on Friday, June 30, 2023, on the Cottbus main campus with "Laut gegen Nazis". Free of charge and in a good mood, the open air concert is the perfect way to get in the mood for the anniversary. On Saturday, July 1, a classical concert will then ring in the evening before dancing into the summer night to handmade music and the finest DJ sets. On Saturday, July 8, the Senftenberg band "DIVA" will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. and ensure a good atmosphere. Again, admission is free and everyone is welcome!

Many committed students, Staff Members and partners of the BTU are involved in the organization and design of the celebration. The program is not yet complete, but it's already worth taking a look at the overview of all the events that have already been confirmed. After all, this anniversary celebration will whet your appetite for the future and is just as colorful and crass as Cottbus, Senftenberg and Lusatia.
