New chancellor at the BTU
After a public hearing by the Senate, BTU President Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande appointed the native of Upper Lusatia to his post. Robert Denk will thus head the central university administration of the only university of technology in the state of Brandenburg for the next six years.
Prof. Grande explains: "I am extremely pleased that with Mr. Denk we were able to win a new chancellor who has gained excellent experience in university management, university law and university administration at a university of excellence. Mr. Denk convinced the search group and me with his strategic thinking, broad knowledge and personality."
The 46-year-old is looking forward to his chancellorship at BTU: "From the very beginning, I was impressed by the pronounced will to shape things at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. I am very much looking forward to working with my new colleagues to make the university even more visible on the map of scientific institutions. "
Personal details
Robert Denk is a fully qualified lawyer. He began his professional career after his second state examination as a lawyer in a Dresden criminal law firm. Since 2008, he worked in various positions at the TU Dresden, first as an officer, later as head of the rector's office. Most recently, he was head of the budget and financial accounting department and deputy to the head of the department of finance and procurement.
