Concern about violence in the Middle East

The BTU is deeply shocked in light of the brutal terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023, and expresses its solidarity with the affected local people who are subjected to these terrible attacks.

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg condemns the terrorist attacks on Israel and the continuing attacks in the strongest possible terms. Our thoughts are with those affected and the victims of these criminal acts, which cannot be justified in any way. The bond with our academic cooperation partners in the region is stronger than ever. We stand firmly by the side of our affected friends and colleagues.

Our sympathy and condolences go out to all the victims of this conflict and their families. All affected students, researchers and teachers who are currently in Cottbus and Senftenberg will be supported to the best of our ability. This support applies to Israeli and Palestinian members of the BTU. As well as for members of our university who are currently in the conflict area. If you have not already been contacted, please contact the BTU's International Relations Office: internationaloffice(at)b-tu.de.

The BTU - as well as the Alliance of Science Organizations - explicitly stands for peace, openness to the world, democracy, tolerance and humanity!
