BTU welcomes exchange students for the winter semester
The Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) is pleased to welcome numerous new exchange students again this year.
Within the framework of the exchange programmes ERASMUS+ and STUDEXA, students from the USA, South Korea, Ukraine, China, Tunisia, Jordan, Venezuela, Mexico, South Africa, Ghana, Syria, Poland, Romania, Turkey, Belgium, Lithuania, Spain, and Italy have found their way to Cottbus and Senftenberg.
They enrich the student body at BTU with a tremendous diversity of academic and cultural experiences. Among them are participants in the exchange programme "Combined Study and Practical Stays for Engineers from Developing Countries" (KOSPIE) and students from the German-Jordanian University who combine a semester of study at BTU with a subsequent internship in Germany. Additionally, students from the West University of Timisoara will complete part of their double-degree programme in Social Work (B.A) at BTU during the winter semester.
This semester, the welcome event was held in a new format for the first time. New exchange students received information about the organisation of language courses offered by the Language Center at various proficiency levels, both online and in person. In addition, the International Relations Office provided numerous details about studying at BTU, as well as helpful tips regarding the cultural offers in the region and travel opportunities as part of the "German Cities" programme in the winter semester of 2023/24.
The event not only offered an opportunity for informative exchange but also for making initial connections. During a relaxed gathering with pizza and entertaining icebreaker games, international students were able to establish their first connections with each other and with the staff of the university.
BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is delighted to welcome this diverse and international community into its midst and looks forward to the shared experiences and adventures in the winter semester of 2023/24.
