They learn about the interesting properties of viruses and bacteria that are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. But with the help of a microscope, it may be possible to make the invisible visible.
The speaker is Victoria Liedtke, research assistant at the Faculty Environment and Natural Sciences at BTU, Chair of Biotechnology of Water Treatment.

Pupils' university lecture: Saturday, December 9, 2023, 12:30-14:00
Lecture for young people in years seven to 13 on genetics
"What are we made of and what makes us unique?".
Eye color, hair color and height - we are aware of the connection to genetics for many things, and we can compare which traits we have inherited based on our parents. But what else can we learn about ourselves from our genes? Can we predict whether we will develop certain diseases later on or how old we will live, and what exactly happens with genetic mutations?
