Start of the public lecture series "Structural Engineering" at BTU

Current challenges and successes from engineering practice in the region are the focus of the "Structural Engineering" lecture series, which starts on Wednesday, 30 October 2024 with a lecture on "Implementing sustainable solutions in civil engineering" at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

Interested parties from construction practice, researchers and students have the opportunity to find out about current developments in structural engineering that are important for the region and beyond as part of the event format. At a time characterised by a shortage of skilled workers and ever more extensive building regulations, the lecture series is intended to provide a platform for professional exchange.

The lecture series will also report on current research in the structural engineering chairs at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) in order to draw attention to future developments in the construction industry and, if necessary, to initiate new developments in practice, research, teaching and standardisation from the region in cooperation with the BTU and the Institute for Materials Research and Testing (FMPA).

The lecture series "Structural Engineering" includes a total of four lectures in the current winter semester 2024/2025. It is supported by the Förderverein Konstruktiver Ingenieurbau e. V. and organised by the Institute of Civil Engineering (IBAU) at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

Dates in the winter semester 2024/2025,
each Wednesday 17.30 - 19.00 at the main campus Cottbus of the BTU in the large lecture theatre
