Deutschlandstipendium Holders 2024/25: Hai Viet Le

Hai Viet Le would like to use her scholarship to further her musical development. We introduce the 24-year-old scholarship holder.

Hai Viet Le is currently studying Instrumental and Vocal Performance and Teaching at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. What she loves most about her degree programme is "the really great individual lessons in the major and minor subjects." Hai Viet Le is particularly looking forward to the musical projects on her study programme. Last semester, for example, she sang the title role of Aeneas in a student performance of the opera "Dido and Aeneas". In addition to her studies, the 24-year-old works as a student (research) assistant in the Chair of Singing / Vocal Didactics under Professor Simone Schröder and is involved in the student council of her study programme.

The Zittau-born student found the application process for the Deutschlandstipendium to be uncomplicated and well-structured. "As I didn't have any grades by the application deadline, some lecturers gave me letters of recommendation, which I was able to submit," she reports. She would like to pass on to other students that the effort involved in the application is very low in relation to the benefits of the Deutschlandstipendium and is definitely worth it - "Just give it a try!"

Hai Viet Le would like to use the financial support from her Deutschlandstipendium scholarship, which is sponsored by PSD Bank Berlin-Brandenburg, to focus more on the creative side of her studies in future. During individual lessons with Professor Simone Schröder, she discovered her enthusiasm for these areas and would now like to take part in musical masterclasses or competitions, for example.

About the Deutschlandstipendium at BTU

As part of the national scholarship programme "Deutschlandstipendium", BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg awards scholarships every winter semester to particularly talented, high-achieving and socially committed students. The funding amounts to 300 euros per month, initially limited to two semesters. Half of the funds for this programme come from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and half from private sponsors.
The central criterion for awarding the scholarships is special talent and performance. In particular, previous personal career, social and family circumstances, social commitment and special successes can also be taken into account
