Double degree programme in the Master's degree course in Power Engineering extended
As part of their long-standing successful collaboration, both universities have extended their existing double degree programme in the Master's degree course in Power Engineering. The programme aims to train highly qualified academic specialists in the field of power engineering and to further fund the mobility of students and academics. Students have the opportunity to gain international experience in addition to professional qualifications and, after successful participation, to obtain a degree not only from their home university but also from the partner university.
The BTU President, Prof. Gesine Grande, and the Vice President for Internationalisation, Prof. Wolfram Berger, welcomed the guests. After the official signing of the double degree agreement, a constructive exchange took place with representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Energy Systems and the International Relations Office on the further development of the cooperation in the coming years. The guests then visited various research facilities of the faculty and gained exciting insights into current research projects.
The bilateral cooperation between BTU and the renowned USST dates back to the year 2000 and focusses on engineering sciences. There has been a structured student exchange programme between the two universities since 2008. In 2010, the joint double degree programme in Master's Power Engineering was established, which today has 37 graduates.
