Cottbus Open - a colourful mile of culture from all over the world
This year it is taking place for the 25th time. BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande and Lord Mayor Tobias Schick will open the popular event for young and old together with the Integration Commissioner of the State of Brandenburg and BTU alumna Diana Gonzalez Olivo.
Under the motto "Tolerance knows no boundaries", the Cottbus Open sends out a strong signal in favour of acceptance, diversity and open-minded cooperation. The festival offers a platform that brings together people from different backgrounds. Meeting each other respectfully, getting to know each other, learning from each other - that's what the 100 or so participants are all about. They create a non-stop stage programme that promises to be a firework display of cultures. Rousing performances and sounds from international student groups, such as the Indian Dance Group "CottbusBeats" or students from Pakistan and Nepal, will create a friendly, cosmopolitan atmosphere. The samba drummers "Los Pepinos" from Cottbus will also be there.
For gourmets and connoisseurs, the BTU "Cottbus InterNETional" food mile organised by students and initiatives is a special highlight. Culinary specialities can be sampled here. The variety of smells and flavours reflects the cultural range of the festival and invites you to a delicious adventure.
Cottbus Open is one of the most popular intercultural festivals in the region. As a highlight of the Cottbus city festival, it invites you to celebrate the diversity of cultures. It is organised in cooperation with the city of Cottbus, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and local associations and organisations.
