Shaping the energy transition together - CREATE:ENERGY research network invites you to its annual conference
The annual conference of the CREATE:ENERGY project of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and the RWTH Aachen University is entitled "MachMaWatt!-Shaping citizen energy". Interested parties are very welcome.
The focus will be on the experiences of the towns of Vetschau, Calau, Lübbenau and the Burg (Spreewald) district, which, together with guests from North Rhine-Westphalia, will take a look at the challenges and opportunities of energy generation in former mining regions. The focus will be on the utilisation of land, for example for photovoltaics on roofs or open spaces, the legal and economic framework conditions and the question of how local energy projects can be implemented sensibly and sustainably.
The conference sees itself as a platform for dialogue and participation. It shows how the energy transition can succeed not only technically, but also socially, through co-operative models, municipal initiatives and the active participation of the population. The aim is to open up new paths of action and develop pilot projects that are exemplary for a socially just and ecologically sensible energy transition.
In addition to expert presentations and discussions, specific project examples will be presented. Representatives from administration, planning, civil society and business will contribute their perspectives and work together on solutions for local implementation. The conference thus sets an example for cooperation and shows that the energy transition works better together than against each other.
Participation in the event is free of charge. The conference is funded by third-party funds as part of municipal research. The programme and further information can be found
