On the occasion of the current violent clashes in Iran

BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is deeply shocked by the recent events in Iran. We are shocked by the reports of the extent of the violence. News from BTU students in the region has deeply affected us.

The university management and members of the university are standing firmly by the side of our Iranian students, who are worried about their families and friends in Iran. In some cases, they have had hardly any contact with them for days. This is a particular burden for the young people, especially now at the end of the semester and during the examination period.

BTU stands for respect, tolerance and peaceful discourse in our dealings with one another. We therefore call for an immediate end to all violence in the current conflict in Iran and want to offer all our students a safe and supportive environment in which they can achieve their academic and personal goals.

There are over 240 students from Iran studying at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. They form one of the largest communities of international students at the university.
