Exhibition: The colourful world of studying and working
This presentation is part of and now the third highlight in the exhibition series featuring the work of creative staff and students at BTU.
Ralf Schuster uses his colorful drawings, created with wax crayons, to describe everyday life, ironically exaggerating it and commenting on it in his own unique way. Ralf Schuster is primarily a photographer and has been working as such at the BTU for 30 years.
Fantasy meets reality
The world of work and study has changed: but even with home offices and e-learning, colorful libraries, open spaces, and designer furniture, some tasks are still challenging or even opportunities for failure. Ralf Schuster knows that a realistic representation of the world is much easier to achieve with a camera anyway. Drawings offer the opportunity to combine imagination with reality. Through his work, Ralf Schuster knows the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg from all sides, down to its deepest corners, and has been inspired by it in many ways. In addition to his media work at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg Multimedia Center, he is also active as a musician and visual artist in Cottbus and beyond.
In the exhibition "Beautiful colourful world of studying and working", the themes of the university's world of images intersect with the artist's Dadaist creative will. The reference to image photography is intentional and will hopefully give viewers a lot of pleasure.
Open until the Senftenberg Open Day on 4 July
The exhibition "The beautiful, colourful world of studying and working" can be viewed in the media library of the University Library at the Senftenberg site of the BTU during opening hours with free admission. It is expected to be on display until the Open Senftenberg Day on Saturday, 4 July 2026. Access is via the main entrance to the library from Großenhainer Straße.
