Successful trade fair appearance: Lausitz Science Park showcases its innovative strength at HANNOVER MESSE 2026

The Lausitz Science Park is celebrating a successful debut at HANNOVER MESSE 2026: with innovative projects, strong partners and international interest, Lausitz is establishing itself as a region of the future for industry, energy and technology.

The “Lausitz Science Park” (LSP) project at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has had a successful showing at HANNOVER MESSE 2026. From 20 to 24 April, the LSP made its debut at the joint stand of the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB) in Hall 12, where it showcased the innovative strength of the Lausitz region in an international context alongside its partners.

Under the motto “Home for Innovation”, the Lausitz Science Park presented research projects, initiatives, start-ups and companies that are already closely linked to the emerging science and technology park in Cottbus. The focus was on forward-looking solutions in the fields of the energy transition, sensor technology, sustainable industrial processes and innovative mobility – key themes for one of Germany’s most dynamic regions undergoing structural change. A highlight: the visit to the joint stand by Brandenburg’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Martina Klement, Berlin’s State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Severin Fischer, and WFBB Manager Sebastian Saule.

“HANNOVER MESSE is an ideal platform for us to raise the profile of Lusatia as an attractive innovation hub and to initiate new partnerships,” summarised the project team. “The great response confirms that our topics are attracting international interest.”

A particular highlight were the specialist presentations at the joint stand. Experts from the Lausitz Science Park community presented the latest developments – ranging from highly integrated high-temperature heat pumps, via Net Zero Valley Lausitz and the Berlin-Lausitz Innovation Corridor, to hybrid drive systems and AI-supported innovation processes for small and medium-sized enterprises.

With its first participation at HANNOVER MESSE, the Lausitz Science Park underlines its ambition to act as a central hub for research, knowledge transfer and economic development in the Lausitz region. The successful trade fair appearance also marks an important step towards positioning the region nationally and internationally as a forward-looking industrial and innovation hub.
