High-tech for structural change: iCampμs invites you to the iCCC2026 transfer conference in Cottbus
The conference is organised by the Innovation Campus for Electronics and Microsensors, an initiative funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) that acts as a bridge between science and industry.
The three-day programme ofthe iCampμs Cottbus Conference (iCCC2026) reflects the urgency of harnessing technological innovations to address key societal challenges such as climate change, digitalisation and demographic change. The focus is on condition monitoring and predictive maintenance in industry, which help to conserve resources and prevent breakdowns, as well as modern sensor systems in healthcare and sport, which enable longer and more independent lives, and forward-looking approaches in Energy Economics, materials and process technologies.
The programme is complemented by bio- and environmental sensor technology, which precisely measures environmental impacts, communication technologies and ultrasonic sensor technology, as well as innovative 5G applications with live demonstrations. These diverse fields of research reflect the interdisciplinary work of the Innovation Campus for Electronics and Microsensor Technology (iCampμs), which develops practical solutions for a sustainable and connected future.
Successful in business: Berlin-based company Perinet with a branch in Cottbus
As a technology leader, Perinet develops Single-Pair Ethernet-based smart components that act as flexible interfaces between the machine level and IT systems. Together with partner companies such as Zentinel MDS, tailor-made solutions for the digitalisation of production processes are being implemented – from the monitoring of PET blow moulding machines to energy consumption analysis in Computing Centres and heavy industry. Dr Karsten Walther, Manager of Perinet and a BTU graduate, will explain the significance of these technologies for Industry 4.0 at iCCC2026 and demonstrate how artificial intelligence can intervene directly in production facilities through networked sensor technology.
More than just a specialist event
It is a platform for exchange, networking and the joint development of innovations that provide sustainable support for structural change in Lusatia. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Christine Ruffert, initiator of the conference and Head of Innovation Management at iCampμs, extends an invitation: “Benefit from professional exchange with our teams of experts and find new project partners and solutions in fields such as acoustics, machine monitoring, energy technology, environmental analysis, mobility, communication, health and process technologies!”
In addition to high-profile keynote speeches by representatives from Deutsche Bahn AG, LEAG, Siemens Healthineers, ZEISS, Krohne and X-FAB, participants can look forward to a practical workshop for young entrepreneurs as well as a 5G workshop featuring live demonstrations.
Nationwide appeal and keen interest
Over 260 participants from industry, research and administration are expected, accompanied by an exhibition featuring numerous stands showcasing the latest innovations and scientific highlights from Lusatia.
The iCCC2026 demonstrates how close cooperation between science and industry gives rise to technologies that not only advance Industry 4.0 and Agri 4.0, but also revolutionise environmental and health applications. Sensor technology, digitalisation and artificial intelligence are the key technologies for a sustainable and future-proof region.
