Connection issues with the eduroam Wi-Fi

following the Windows 11 update at the end of April

Following a Windows 11 update in late April, an increasing number of connection issues with the eduroam Wi-Fi network have been reported. This problem also affects other DFN institutions and, based on current information, exclusively devices running Windows 11.

To resolve the issue, updated Wi-Fi profile files for Windows 11 were made available on May 5, 2026 (as a workaround):

Installing the appropriate profile file will resolve the issue with accessing the eduroam Wi-Fi network.

Technical Background: The updated Wi-Fi profiles for Windows systems now additionally include the certificate: “Hellenic Academic and Research Institutions ECC RootCA 2015” as a trusted root CA certificate.
