The MUL Data Integration Centre explained simply

How can health data be made available for research in a way that complies with data protection regulations? In an online talk, Antonia Ewald from the Medical University of Lausitz – Carl Thiem (MUL-CT) will present the Data Integration Centre (DIZ) and the opportunities it offers researchers.

The Data Integration Centre (DIZ) at the Medical University of Lausitz – Carl Thiem provides researchers with an infrastructure that brings together structured real-world medical data from various sources, processes it in accordance with data protection regulations, and makes it available for research purposes. This service opens up a wide range of possibilities – not only for medical research, but also for Computer Science, artificial intelligence, public health, social sciences, sensor technology and analytics.

In her online lecture, Antonia Ewald from the DIZ’s Transfer Office will explain how health data can be made accessible and usable for scientific research whilst adhering to high data protection and security standards. There will be an opportunity for discussion and exchange afterwards.

Questions on the topic can be submitted in advance by 15 June 2026 via email to transferstelle(at)mul-ct.de with the subject line “DIZ simply explained”.
