That was the Culture Campus in Sachsendorf, which attracted a record number of visitors

"Summer, Sun, Sachsendorf" was the theme for the Kultur-Campus on 10 July 2026. The organisers certainly didn’t overpromise. It was a fantastic festival and the number of guests was a record-breaker! From early afternoon until late into the night, the campus was transformed into a vibrant hub of activity that exceeded all expectations.

For the fourth time, students on the Social Work study programme at BTU, together with the Sachsendorf/Madlow Citizens’ Association (Bürgerverein Sachsendorf/Madlow e.V.), hosted an event on the university’s Sachsendorf campus. Under the motto ‘Together in the Neighbourhood’, the campus grounds on Lipezker Straße were transformed into a lively meeting place for around 1,500 people.

Amidst colourful stalls, culinary delights and refreshing drinks, the varied programme offered plenty of highlights. The Open Symphonic Orchestra kicked things off in spectacular fashion with spine-tingling classical pieces under the open sky, before the live bands Massendefekt, F.A.K.T, Unplugged System and Third Attempt got the crowd going and had the campus buzzing until late into the night.

Alongside the musical entertainment, hands-on activities for young and old alike proved very popular. Particularly well-received were the sporting activities such as tin can toss, the bouncy castle and building the XXL Jenga tower. On this summery day, the drinks freshly blended on the smoothie bike provided just the right refreshment. In addition, various creative activities such as face painting and the craft corner proved to be popular attractions. A highlight for football fans was the autograph session with the players from FC Energie Cottbus. In the evening, everyone joined in the excitement during the public viewing of the World Cup quarter-final.

Thanks to the support of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg Students’ Council, the BTU Friends’ Association, the Lusatia Economic Region and the Ost:Brandenburg Student Services Organisation, it was once again possible this year to create a space where people could meet, chat, play, have fun and be entertained. Everyone who attended enjoyed an unforgettable, peaceful summer festival together.
