2025 was a year full of ideas, events, new developments and shared successes. As a hub for knowledge, research, innovation and interaction, the BTU provided and experienced many new impetus. This annual report invites you to look back, discover special moments and get to know the people who shape university life.

This review takes you through the many facets of the year – from the BTU as a university and centre of science, through to study, research and knowledge transfer, right up to internationalisation and culture. Facts and figures complement the stories and highlight what drove the BTU forward and what it achieved in 2025.

About the BTU

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg (BTU) is a young, research-intensive campus university with three sites: the main campus in Cottbus, the Cottbus-Sachsendorf Campus and the Campus Senftenberg. With around 7,700 students from some 130 countries, an international student body accounting for around 50 per cent of the total, and over 185 professors, the BTU combines excellent research with degree programmes, innovation and knowledge transfer. Over 700 teaching and research fellows and more than 750 non-academic Staff Members work together to contribute to the university’s development. By 2026, over 2,000 young people will have begun their studies at the BTU.
