BTU-BAM Graduate School

»Trustworthy Hydrogen«

The BTU-BAM Graduate School »Trustworthy Hydrogen« established by Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus – Senftenberg and Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) combines the unique hydrogen expertise and research facilities of both institutions. It aims to train the next generation of young scientists and engineers. By embedding the Graduate School into the established research institutions BAM and BTU, the PhD students not only have access to the expertise of both institutions, but also benefit from their large network of national, European and international partners from industry, science and the public sector.

Doctoral training will combine specific technical expertise with a holistic view of the entire hydrogen value chain and the framework conditions required for market implementation. Through complementing the comprehensive hydrogen qualification programme with training in core soft skills, the GRK graduates will have all the necessary professional and personal competences to become future hydrogen leaders, working in German and European companies as well as scientific institutions. The PhD graduates are thus uniquely positioned to drive the establishment of hydrogen as a future energy technology at the system level.
