Never again racism, never again war

On February 15, 1945, the city of Cottbus was bombed. The train station, the Luther Church and the hospital were hit particularly hard at that time, along with other places. Therefore, on February 15, a public commemoration will take place against forgetting.

The Cottbuser Aufbruch commemorates this event with a poster campaign and at the same time warns of the danger of radical right-wing activities. The posters will be seen in buses and trains, on the roadside and on some advertising pillars.

Under pandemic security measures, the following actions will take place:

  • from 1 p.m. on Ernst-Mucke-Platz: commemorative event "Colorful caps instead of brown caps" of the working group against right-wing radicalism Schmewllitz, to which the mayor of Cottbus will give a greeting;
  • At 11:45 a.m., the Lutherkirche congregation will commemorate the bombing with a prayer service; at 11:53 a.m., the bells will ring for silent remembrance.

Interested parties and supporters are cordially invited to attend.
