WARM UP for the Nationwide Student SATIRE Festival EI(N)FÄLLE
On the evening of next Saturday (Jan. 14), starting at 8 p.m. , the already traditional short film night EI(N)BLICKE will take place in the large lecture hall of the BTU at the central campus with 21 short films. The films are between one and 14 minutes long and will be presented in three parts for an entertaining film evening with comical, whimsical, satirical and ironic contributions. Under the motto "Women's Power," films will be shown that come exclusively from women. Program designer Heiko Fischer describes the program as follows: "Colorful, satirical and cheeky - dancing sisters, kleptomamis and vagina monologues: do women behind the camera or on the screen automatically make movies better? Across all genres, we invite you to a cinematic field study." The KurzFilmNacht is a joint production with the Kommunales Kino Cottbus e.V. association.
On Tuesday (Jan. 17), starting at 7:30 p.m., the Science Slam will be part of the festival program for the ninth time, also in the large lecture hall of the BTU at the central campus. Six speakers will give 10-minute talks on topics from science and everyday life in an attempt to win the audience's favor. Everything from students to scientists will be present. The audience will form the jury and determine who will be crowned the winner at the end of the evening. However, the evaluation is not primarily based on the scientific value of the work. Rather, it is an entertaining presentation of the topic that decides. Admission is free.
The official opening of the festival will take place on January 19 at the Conservatory. Until Sunday (22.1.) we expect 22 groups or soloists from 7 federal states and from Switzerland for further 5 events on 2 stages at the festival.
