Future technologies from current BTU research at The smarter E Europe

The smarter E Europe, which takes place in Munich from 7 to 9 May 2025, is the largest Energy Economics platform for renewable energies. As an information platform for the energy industry, this trade fair brings together international decision-makers in Munich every year. Four sub-fairs - Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe - are presented at the location. The BTU is one of more than 3,000 exhibitors. These will attract the interest of over 110,000 visitors over the three days of the trade fair. An extensive and varied supporting programme, specialist conferences and seven trade fair forums will make the trade fairs a place for exchange and discourse. One new feature will be a special show on the future topic of bidirectional charging.

BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will be represented for the first time with a stand at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region and will present the Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ). As a bridge between science and industry, the EIZ with over 80 scientists from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is developing innovative solutions and technologies for the climate-neutral energy system of the future together with an interdisciplinary partner network. The focus is on excellent research, industry-related technology development and training and further education programmes for business and science. The aim of the trade fair appearance is to raise the profile of the research centre, establish contacts with companies and build up start-ups. A visit to the trade fair opens up the prospect of establishing and developing further new specialist contacts, networks and cooperation opportunities for the current research project or further joint projects.
