How can Lusatian companies benefit from artificial intelligence (AI)?

The PerspektiveArbeit Lausitz (PAL) project invites Lusatian companies to the first transfer event, which will focus on data-based adaptive assistance systems that can be used, for example, for error detection, robotics applications, digital knowledge management, capacity demand or energy forecasts in companies to relieve people of routine activities.

Artificial intelligence is changing the world of work. The event clarifies what this could mean in concrete terms for small and medium-sized enterprises in the region. In addition to the concern that the competition is speeding away in the fast lane in the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence, the shortage of skilled workers also plays a role. As people get older, jobs in production become more strenuous. How these can continue to be performed without restrictions and how work in the Lusatian SME sector must be made attractive for young, well-trained junior staff will be the topics of the event, which will focus on personal contact and exchange between entrepreneurs, researchers and political players in the region.

Date: July 7, 2022, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location: Bischofswerda City Hall
Participation: Your registration for the free event is requested via our project partner BSW here. The conference program can also be accessed via this link.

Interdisciplinary teams from labor research and engineering from four universities and 23 companies and associations from Saxony and Brandenburg are pooling their expertise in the PerspektiveArbeit Lausitz (PAL) project - Competence Center for Work of the Future. The common goal is to make work in Lausitz efficient, attractive and healthier through artificial intelligence systems.

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is represented in the PAL Competence Center by the Department of Work Science/ Work Psychology (AWIP). The research team of the department ensures the sustainable and human-friendly integration of these systems at information-based activities.
