Minds from research and transfer

Daria Morcinczyk-Meier is the new coordinator for transfer activities at the chesco research factory. Here she is working on concepts for networking with the regional economy in the taf project "Transfer of agile manufacturing methods".

Ms Morcinczyk-Meier, how did you come to BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg?

I got to know BTU during my time in the Innovation Hub 13 project and always found my colleagues here very pleasant. When I changed from a city dweller to a country bumpkin, Cottbus was much closer. With the wonderful opportunity to work in Professor Mißler-Behr's department and pursue my doctoral studies, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg became my "place to be".

What are your tasks in the taf project at the chesco research factory?

My tasks include the conception and further development of the Transfer of Knowledge and Technology for innovative manufacturing methods and agile production. I am responsible for coordinating the transfer team and jointly developing programmes such as our taf workshop series. To this end, we analyse and evaluate which topics from the field of agile manufacturing are of interest to regional companies and how we can make the technologies available in our research factory accessible to the regional economy. I also maintain and expand our wide-ranging network of partners from industry, science and multipliers - from regional to international - and carry out representative activities.

What qualifies you for this job and what particularly appeals to you about this project?

On the one hand, my degree in industrial engineering is an advantage, as I can understand the business concerns of companies and also have a technical understanding of technology transfer. On the other hand, my experience as a transfer scout and the studies leading to certification of the same name that I completed at BTU help me. What motivates me about the project is actively working towards a sustainable future, in this case the realisation of CO₂-neutral mobility. What I find particularly exciting, however, is that chesco is an organisation in its development and growth phase. The dynamism and creative possibilities in this phase offer the opportunity to help shape structures and processes from the ground up. Working together in a committed team and having the freedom to develop solutions independently is an inspiring working environment that enables you to make a practical contribution to the realisation of sustainability goals.

What is your goal for the future of the project?

That as many companies as possible benefit from the taf "Transfer of agile manufacturing methods" project and that we can continue to fund the exchange of knowledge between the university and industry in the long term. Small and medium-sized companies in Lusatia are particularly affected by the transformation, and our free series of workshops can provide companies with valuable impetus for their further development while also giving them access to scientific expertise. I hope that it will develop into a model example of a STARK project that supports companies in seizing opportunities, developing sustainable business models and offering them real added value.
