‘DFG funding programmes for individual career development’ (in English)
your academic career. We will begin with a brief overview of the funding opportunities offered by the DFG for all career stages between a PhD and a professorship, and then go on to discuss the eligibility criteria and funding conditions for the Walter Benjamin and Emmy Noether programmes.
The second part of the seminar will consist of experience reports from grant recipients. Dr Guy Foghem is currently a Walter Benjamin Fellow at the Chair of Mathematics – Analysis at BTU. As part of her appointment to a junior professorship at the Chair of Microbiology in 2025, Prof. Dr Anja Worrich secured an Emmy Noether grant. The most experienced grant recipient is Prof. Dr Julia von Maltzahn, who received an Emmy Noether grant in the field of developmental biology from 2013 to 2020. All three fellows will discuss their experiences with the programme and the impact that DFG funding has had on their research careers, and will be available to answer questions.
Speakers: Dr Katrin Weise, Unit for Research Funding; Dr Guy Foghem, Walter Benjamin Fellow; Prof. Dr Julia von Maltzahn and Prof. Dr Anja Worrich, Emmy Noether Fellows
