Dr. phil. Alexandra Skedzuhn-Safir

Alexandra Skedzuhn-Safir studierte in Florenz die Restaurierung von Stein und Keramik am Instituto per ll’Arte e il Restauro, und arbeitete dort für mehrere Jahre an Restaurierungsprojekten. Ihren Bachelor erhielt sie an der HAWK in Hildesheim in der Konservierung von Architekturoberflächen, und ihren MA in World Heritage Studies an der BTU. Ihre Promotionsarbeit in der Denkmalpflege befasste sich mit der Topografie der Prostitution in Florenz des 19. Jahrhunderts und der kulturellen Bedeutung der historischen Bordelle.

Ihre Interessen in der Forschung und Lehre gelten der Marginalisierung im Heritage Diskurs, dem inhärenten Konflikt zwischen der Restaurierung historischer Substanz und dem Werterhalt sowie der Interpretation des Kulturerbes. In ihrem Habilitationsvorhaben befasst sie sich mit der olfaktorischen Wahrnehmung und den Emotionen im Denkmaldiskurs.

Dr. Skedzuhn-Safir ist Mitglied u.a. in ICOMOS und im Arbeitskreis Theorie und Lehre der Denkmalpflege (AKTLD). Bis 2018 war sie langjähriges Mitglied der NGO Achi Association, die sich dem Erhalt des buddhistisch gebauten Erbes in Ladakh widmet.

Seit 10/2021 Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin, Lehrbeauftragte und wissenschaftliche Assistentin am Lehrstuhl für Denkmalpflege an der BTU.

04/2020 - 09/2021 Vertretungsprofessorin am Lehrstuhl für Denkmalpflege an der BTU. Weitere Aufgaben: Mitglied des Promotionsausschusses; Mitglied der Arbeitsgruppe zur Entwicklung eines neuen Online-Studiengangs (DAAD-Förderung für den Studiengang WHS Online); Mitglied der Arbeitsgruppe zur Entwicklung eines neuen Studiengangs Architektur- und Kunstgeschichte; Vorsitzender des Prüfungsausschusses für World Heritage Studies und Heritage Conservation and Site Management.
