24th International Conference on Production Research (ICPR) at Poznan University of Technology

Participation of the Chair for Production and Operations Management at the ICPR in Poznan

The International Conference on Production Research (ICPR) sponsored by the International Foundation for Production Research (IFPR), encourage communication among researchers of production systems and processes around the world. Due to its close link to the International Journal for Production Research (IJPR), the conference has become an interesting setting for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and a platform to discuss and promote the latest project results. This year the 24th version of the conference had as main topic “New challenges for production research” and was hosted by the Poznan University of Technology from the 31st of July - 3th August in Poznan, Poland.

Our BTU Productions and Operations Management chair participated this year in the track “Manufacturing management” with two papers: (1) “Bio-inspired factory layouts: A morphological approach for investigating design criteria” presented by Ms. Mandy Hermann and (2) “Flow shop scheduling optimization in the chipboard industry: A simulation-based analysis using priority dispatching rules” presented by Mr. Martin Richter. Additionally, the Chair was part of the special session “Collaborative Industrial Networks: Bridging Theory and Practice”, where Ms. Aglaya Batz discussed the paper “Discrepancies between cluster services and SMEs’ needs constraining the creation of a culture of innovation”

It was a great experience and pleasure to meet interesting researchers from all over the world and discuss the latest research results.
